BASIC INJECTABLES

Basic Injectables Certificate Course

The Basic Injectables certificate course offered by the Institute of Aesthetic & Regenerative Medicine (IARM) is designed to provide medical professionals with a foundational understanding and practical skills in the field of aesthetic medicine. This course covers essential topics related to injectables, including neurotoxins (e.g., Botox), dermal fillers, and other cosmetic injectables.

In this course, you will be introduced to basic treatments most commonly used in aesthetic medicine. Students will become familiar with products as well as how to effectively and safely administer them to clients.

You will learn the theory portion of the course online along with an online examination. After you will continue with a hands-on practical component supervised by IARM’s team of experienced instructors and physicians. The practical component includes the review of the following topics:

  •  Workshop of anatomy review (upper face muscles, midface fat compartments, arteries of the face)
  •  Consent processing and post-care instructions
  •  Facial analysis and evaluation
  •  Emergency kit
  •  Selection of right product (for fillers)
  •  Management of Complications
  •  Interactive Case studies
  •  Patient pictures and records

The course curriculum typically includes:

  • Introduction to Aesthetic Medicine: An overview of the history, scope, and significance of aesthetic medicine, including patient assessment and consultation techniques.
  • Neurotoxins (Botox): Detailed instruction on the use of neurotoxins for cosmetic purposes, including their mechanism of action, dosage, injection techniques, and potential side effects.
  • Dermal Fillers: Comprehensive training on the use of dermal fillers to address various aesthetic concerns, such as wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss, including different types of fillers, injection techniques, and safety considerations.
  • Patient Safety and Consent: Importance of patient safety in aesthetic procedures, including the recognition and management of complications, as well as obtaining informed consent from patients.
  • Hands-On Training: Practical, hands-on sessions where participants can apply the knowledge gained in the classroom under the supervision of experienced instructors.
  • Marketing and Practice Management: Strategies for building a successful aesthetic practice, including marketing techniques, patient retention, and ethical considerations.

Upon completion of the Basic Injectables course, participants are typically awarded a certificate from IARM, which can enhance their professional credentials and enable them to offer aesthetic injectable treatments in their practice.
